Porter Robinson is really excited for the release of his album Worlds. The producer has shared a new track from the album called "Sad Machine," on which he makes his vocal debut!
He explains the track on Twitter as a duet between himself and a robot girl. He explains that he used a Vocaloid which is a synth that "recreates the human singing voice."
Porter tells Fader, "The idea of a duet between a lonely robot girl and the human boy who encounters her occurred to me. I didn't have much time before I had to turn in the entire album, so I just sang the male parts. I wanted something that felt distantly sad, a little cute, surreal, hopeful, and maybe somehow evocative of fiction?"
The single is available now on iTunes.
Porter also revealed the release date to worlds:
and while i’m at it, let’s announce the release date of the album: “worlds” is coming out on august 12. ( ｡•̀ᴗ-)~*♡— 【＝◈︿◈＝】ｐｏｒｔｅｒ (@porterrobinson) May 13, 2014
