On Friday morning, Mesa Police officers responded to reports of an apartment fire and an officer thought he heard a child yelling from the apartment.
A civilian approached the officers wanting to help, scaled the building, entered the smoke-filled apartment through a window, and pulled out two young girls, handing them off to officers below.
The girls were unharmed, but witnesses say had it not been for the good Samaritan, who wished to remain anonymous, the incident would have been much worse.
