"Indiana Jones 5" Used De-aging Tech On Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford is going back in time. Well, at least his face is. Empire has confirmed the new installment in the “Indiana Jones” franchise will employ “de-aging” technology in the film’s opening sequence. Ford himself says seeing it is “a little spooky.”

But the star acknowledges it’s well done, admitting “this is the first time I’ve seen it where I believe it.” While the film is said to take place largely in 1969, the opening sequence is set in 1944- hence the need to make Ford look the appropriate age. In the sequence, Indiana Jones squares off against a group of Nazis in a castle.

“Indiana Jones 5” is produced for the first time by Disney since it purchased Lucasfilm in 2012. The movie is set to be released in June 2023.
