James Cameron Admits Jack Could Have Lived On "Titanic" Door

James Cameron is tired of answering the question “could Jack have lived?” So for the 25th anniversary of “Titanic”, he conducted a scientific study to finally settle the debate on whether Jack could have survived

Cameron hired two stunt people who were similar in height and weight to Leo and Kate and recreated the raft scene in a pool to test different scenarios. After going through multiple different scenarios, one where Jack was also granted Rose's life jacket looked to be a success! For a few hours at least.

The results were mixed to say the least. But it looks like running the tests pushed Cameron to consider Jack could have made it. “Jack might’ve lived, but there’s a lot of variables,” Cameron concedes. Check out the video on the right!

A few more details on the tests:

In the first, Cameron showed Jack & Rose couldn’t have both survived on the raft.

In the second test, the two stunt people tried to position themselves halfway in the water.

In the third test, Jack was granted a life jacket from Rose, and here it was clear Jack could've survived!
