Guinness Names A 30-Year-Old Dog The Oldest In The World

A purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo named Bobi is now 30 years and 269 days old as of Feb. 4, making him man’s oldest friend, according to Guinness.

Bobi breaks an almost century-old record held by an Australian cattle dog that died at 29 years and five months in 1939.

Bobi’s owner, Leonel Costa who lives in Portugal, got Bobi when he was just eight years old.

The two have essentially grown up together, which is sweet and astonishing.

As this breed of dog usually lives until about 13 years old, officials at Guinness described Bobi's story as "miraculous".
