An Iraq war veteran and life-long Eagles fan is surprised with tickets to the Super Bowl. Lisa Crutch served in the Army in the Iraq War, where she suffered a traumatic brain injury and now has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In the lead-up to the Super Bowl, Crutch traveled to Phoenix to advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a nonprofit that helps vets with PTSD.
Crutch knew that she was in Phoenix to do some interviews for WWP, but when she met up with Arizona Cardinals linebacker Victor Dimukeje, he actually had a surprise for her: two tickets to the big game to watch her favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, take on the Kansas City Chiefs. "I was so excited to give it to her," Dimukeje recalls. "I was kind of nervous to do it because she's done a lot for this country."
The Army veteran was shocked by the surprise gift, doubly stoked that her team is playing, and called the tickets a “big reward” and a reminder of how grateful she is for where she is now. "This is a great life that I'm living, a lot of people might not think so - I got hurt, I have PTSD and TBI and all that,” Crutch explains. “But this is a wonderful life that I'm living, and I'm just so grateful for it.”
