Colorblind Bride Sees Color For 1st Time At Disney Wedding

At her Disney World wedding, a colorblind bride sees color for the first time using special glasses. Kristin Robinson of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, has been colorblind her whole life and after hearing about special glasses that could allow her to see colors, she decided the best time to try them out would be on her wedding day.

Walt Disney World shared Robinson’s story in a recent blog post, writing that she “was elated when she saw the world and her groom, Nick, illuminated in color for the first time.” Minutes after donning the glasses, she says, “This is surreal! I’ve always dreamed of this; I finally get to see the colors.”

Colorblindness runs in Robinson’s family and her father and brothers, who are colorblind too, also got to experience colors for the first time with their own special glasses. Robinson’s particular type of colorblindness prevents her from seeing shades of red and green, so the team at Disney made sure that there were plenty of beautiful pink flowers at her ceremony, making Robinson’s wedding “nothing short of magical.”
