In a race against time, North Carolina-based Richard Childress Racing (RCR) took a pit stop from the track to help bring an abducted teen home. RCR, home to NASCAR stars like Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch, lent a plane and pilots to transport detectives from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) to Pennsylvania to bring home a 15-year-old North Carolina girl who’d been kidnapped.
Detectives located the victim in Bristol, Pennsylvania, nearly 500 miles from her home in Thomasville, North Carolina. After a dramatic rescue operation, they were able to bring the teen back home safely and her kidnapper now faces charges of child abduction and felonious restraint. Sheriff Richie Simmons confirmed that the young girl was found in good condition and is healthy.
The DCSO thanked Richard Childress and his team in a heartfelt statement, praising their generosity and community support. In the race of life, it's good to know there are still teams willing to make a pit stop for the greater good.
