There are normal-sized cats, there are large cats, and then there’s an absolute CHUNK of a feline that was adopted out by a shelter in Virginia this week.
The Richmond Animal Care and Control shelter in Virginia showed a picture of Patches, a “gloriously gluttonous” that tips the scales at 40.3 pounds.
Believe it or not, Patches isn’t the fattest cat on record; that honor belongs to a cat named Himmy that weighed 46 pounds in 1986 and had to be transported in a wheelbarrow.
The shelter posted a video of Patches and his new owner yesterday on its Facebook page to celebrate his adoption, saying “40 lbs of LOVE right there!”
