LA Rams Defensive Coordinator Saves Child Drowning In Vegas

Last weekend while staying at the Encore Resort in Las Vegas with his family, Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris helped to save a drowning child. Morris was near the pool when he saw a frantic father pull his son from the water and carry him to a lifeguard.

As the lifeguard started CPR, Morris ran to find an automatic external defibrillator (AED). "I saw people calling 911 so my first question was, where is the AED?" Morris recalls. When he returned, a doctor joined the scene and took over compressions while Morris prepared the AED.

Fortunately, the boy recovered, thanks to the coordinated response, and Morris is grateful that he was able to help. He credits his recent first aid training with the Rams for his part in the boy’s rescue. “I’m just thankful I knew what to do,” Morris says, “You just never know when you’re going to need that stuff.”
