Good Samaritan Rescues Driver From Car Engulfed In Flames

Earlier this week, a good Samaritan in Maine rescued a driver from a fiery car crash, very likely saving his life. The dramatic incident took place near the Maine and New Hampshire border, close to the town of Brownfield. The driver, identified as Robert Wallstrom, 60, of Brownfield, veered off the road, overcorrected, and ended up striking a large rock, causing his vehicle to catapult into trees and erupt in flames.

Wallstrom, who was traveling alone, miraculously managed to escape the flaming wreck but was actually on fire. The good Samaritan, who lives near the crash site, rushed into the dangerous situation, extinguished the driver, and pulled him safely away from the blazing car.

The brave rescuer stayed with Wallstrom until first responders arrived. Wallstrom was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he’s being treated for life-threatening injuries. In a news release, the Oxford County Sheriff's Office praised the rescuer for his efforts, writing, "The actions of the good Samaritan, without a doubt, saved the life of the individual involved."
