Last Friday, three Massachusetts good Samaritans stopped a kidnapping attempt. The Plymouth Police report that a 39-year-old resident, in violation of a restraining order, showed up at his estranged wife's house "possessing a face mask and handcuffs," allegedly intending to kidnap her while she was holding one of their children.
The woman’s screams attracted the attention of a neighbor, former corrections officer Jamie Costa, who confronted the husband. Then he pulled a handgun on his wife and Costa. Luckily, brothers Jeffrey "Chili" Williams and David Williams, also heard the woman's cries and ran to see if they could help. One of the brothers is licensed to carry a firearm and drew his weapon while the other assisted Costa in tackling and disarming the assailant.
They held him until police arrived and placed the man in custody. Plymouth police later took to social media to thank the good Samaritans for intervening and preventing a tragedy, writing, “We are thankful that good people, coupled with good law enforcement, came together to keep a woman and her children safe.”
