While “This Is Us” was a huge show, some of the streaming residual checks that star Mandy Moore got were shocking.
Residuals are paid when the projects actors are in are replayed.
For Mandy, some of her streaming checks for “This Is Us” were a whopping 81 cents.
That’s it. And she’s a star. They are much smaller, sometimes pennies, for background actors.
Moore, who was picketing for SAG-AFTRA outside Disney over the weekend, says “The residual issue is a huge issue. We’re in incredibly fortunate positions as working actors having been on shows that found tremendous success in one way or another … but many actors in our position for years before us were able to live off of residuals or at least pay their bills.”
