Lizzo stepped up for a fan who was dealing with bullies at her recent show in Australia. Lizzo noticed a young girl named Monroe in the audience who held up a sign asking for help that read “Help me show my haters I’m 100% that b****.”
Lizzo asked Monroe why she needed help, and she said, “I get bullied on social media and they always tell me I’m not good enough…because I like to dance and sing and want to be like you.” Lizzo decided to send a message to the bullies.
Lizzo brought Monroe on stage, saying “the words that we say have a long-lasting effect on people”. She encouraged Monroe to dance for the crowd, and let her haters know she’s got Lizzo on her side. “Don’t talk about my bestie Monroe no more! You’re going to have to go through me. She’s a star, she’s a diva!”
