There was a bit of a panic in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania on Monday.
Reports came in of a mountain lion roaming a neighborhood.
There were even photos and videos that showed the big cat.
Thomas Keller, a biologist with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, went to investigate and discovered that the big cat was actually a feral house cat.
Keller used measuring tools and cardboard models to recreate the photos and that’s how he came to the conclusion.
But, he says, reporting the sighting was the right thing to do.
The last confirmed mountain lion in Pennsylvania was killed in Berks County in the 1870s.
