While on his way home from work on a recent evening, Ryan Myrick of Lakewood, Colorado, noticed a car swerving dangerously on the highway ahead of him. Realizing the driver was unconscious, he first tried to wake her by honking and yelling, but when he got no response, he pulled in front of her and used his truck to bring the car to a stop, likely preventing a serious accident.

The woman’s car was locked, so Myrick used a tire iron to break into the vehicle and then an off-duty police officer and nurse helped assist the driver, who regained consciousness before being taken to the hospital. Myrick later expressed relief that the woman survived and said he would "do it again without hesitation" despite the minor damage to his 15-year-old truck.

Danielle Stephens, Myrick’s girlfriend, organized a crowdfund to help pay for the damages to his truck, explaining the financial difficulties the couple has been facing this year, including expenses related to deaths in their family. She expressed pride in her boyfriend’s selflessness and his willingness to sacrifice for others, and the campaign quickly raised over $1,000 from a few dozen donors. The story has received significant attention through local news, though Myrick remains humble about his actions.
