Last week, a pair of Macomb County deputy sheriffs, Nicole Miron and Anthony Gross, rescued a driver experiencing a medical emergency while behind the wheel in Mount Clemens, Michigan. A citizen contacted authorities about a truck moving erratically down the highway and the deputies quickly caught up with the vehicle.
Bodycam footage shows Miron climbing out of the window of the moving patrol car into the driver's truck to assist him. The deputies then worked together to ensure the driver’s safety amidst heavy traffic. Miron focused on stopping the truck, concerned it might cause an accident at a busy intersection.
The deputies were able to handle the situation quickly and bring the truck safely to a stop. They then ensured that the 63-year-old driver got the medical help he needed. He was taken to a nearby hospital and has since recovered and is now back at his home. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham praised the deputies, calling them heroes for their quick actions in preventing what could have been a serious accident.
