Goat Hopped Into A Marathon And Won A Medal

On Sunday, during the T'Railway Trek Half Marathon in Newfoundland, Canada, runners were joined by an unexpected competitor—a goat named Mr. Joshua. The goat, who lives at Taylor's Pumpkin Patch, decided to join the race spontaneously as runners passed by.

Joshua ran alongside participants for about two and a half miles before his owners caught up with him, allowing him to finish the race. "We quickly put a medal around his neck, and he became quite the star," said Mayor Darrin Bent. Runners eagerly took photos with the goat, and his story quickly went viral online, bringing smiles to many.

His owner, Heidi Taylor, woke up to find social media filled with photos of her runaway goat. She explained, "He must have thought, 'I'm going to go too,'" when he saw people running. The mayor hopes Joshua will return next year, not as a runner, but to hang out at the finish line as the event's mascot.
