Over the weekend, a California woman was reunited with her cat, Aggie, two months after believing she’d lost her in the Palisades wildfire. Katherine Kiefer, 82, was away at a medical appointment when the fire destroyed her home and her children weren’t able to find the hiding cat during the evacuation. Over the weekend, she received a call from the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter with incredible news: Aggie had been found alive.

video posted on social media by Kiefer’s daughter, which has gone viral and racked up over 6-million views, shows the emotional reunion with Kiefer in tears as Aggie curls up in her arms. The five-year-old Maine coon survived but was severely malnourished and required multiple blood transfusions.

Aggie is expected to finally be well enough to go home this week. Kiefer is overjoyed by the unexpected miracle and is urging pet owners to never underestimate their animals' resilience. The heartwarming story has touched many on social media, with users asking for regular updates on Aggie’s ongoing recovery.
