Basketball legend Michael Jordan makes a historic $10-million donation to Make-A-Wish. To celebrate his 60th birthday, MJ has donated $10-million to Make-A-Wish America, the nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children battling critical illness.
The donation is the largest ever in Make-A-Wish’s 43-year history. A spokesperson for the organization says they hope the record-setting donation will “inspire others to ‘be like Mike’ by helping make more wishes possible," a reference to Jordan’s iconic catchphrase from the early 90s.
Since 1989, the former Chicago Bulls star has worked with Make-A-Wish to grant hundreds of wishes as one of their most requested celebrity wish-granters. "For the past 34 years, it's been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids," Jordan says. "Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.”
