Postal workers loved to go by the Watkins home. They could always count on a nice greeting from Matthew. They even nicknamed the teen "Matthew the Mailman," because he dreamed of being a postal worker someday.
Then one day, the Watkins' postal worker noticed Matthew was gone. Not for a day or two...but for eight months. She asked around and found out Matthew had been diagnosed with leukemia.
That's when she started to plan something for their favorite customer.
After Matthew came home, they decided to surprise him. An entire fleet of 20 postal vehicles arrived at his doorstep. The teen, who wore a postal uniform even during his time in the hospital, was ecstatic.
Heroes don't always wear capes.
