If you ever had to go to the hospital as a child you know how terrifying the experience can be. The Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is doing its part to make sure these kids feel special and comfortable.
Recently, a 9-year-old boy went to the hospital for his eighth surgery. He had his favorite stuffed animal (Mike from Monsters, Inc) and kept it with him during his whole stay.
After finishing the surgery on the young boy, the doctor noticed that Mike needed a little fixing. So, the doctor stitched up Mike just like a normal patient. That simple surgery on the stuffed animal made Ryan feel a little more comfortable and like he could relate. Now the hospital performs stuffed-animal surgeries for all their patients. That way the kids have a buddy to heal with!
