When Kevon Smith was having breakfast with his three-month-old son Kevon Jr. at a Cracker Barrel in Willoughby, Ohio, he noticed a couple watching him and smiling, but he wasn’t sure what to think. But when he and his baby finished eating and went outside, he saw a note on his car from the couple, praising him for his parenting. They also left money to cover the cost of their meal.
“Today your meal is on my wife and me,” the note reads. “Enjoy that baby as long as God intends. Keep doing what you’re doing. The Masons.”
Kevon Sr says he gets it because a lot of the guys he knows aren’t taking care of their kids. He says he’ll share this story with his son when he’s older so he can learn that a little kindness goes a long way. “I’m definitely going to make sure I’m paying it forward,” he says. “I get blessed. I want to bless someone else.”
