Teen Makes Teddy Bears To Help Children Of Fallen Officers

Megan O’Grady started Blue Line Bears to help kids of fallen officers cope with the devastating loss of a parent. As the child of a police officer, she got the idea for the nonprofit group, which creates special teddy bears made from the uniform of the law enforcement officer for their children.

The 14-year-old recently presented one of her unique bears to Lieutenant Debra Clayton’s son, Johnny Brinson in Orlando. The officer was killed in the line of duty last month.

While nothing can take away the pain and shock of losing a parent, the teddy bear can help keep the officer’s memory alive. And it shows their child that there are people out there who care about and respect men and women in uniform.
