Most people want to stay as far away from man eating animals as possible. Matthew Swearingen wanted to get up close and personal. The 34-year-old jumped a fence at the Denver Zoo and tried to pet a sleeping tiger.
Luckily for both the tiger and Swearingen, but mostly Matt, he wasn;t able to reach the animal and no injuries were reported.
It's unclear why Swearingen jumped the fence, but in light of the incident, the zoo says it's assessing if anything needs to be done to "discourage this illegal behavior from happening again."
