Did Pete Davidson Also Give His Late Father's FDNY Badge to His Ex?

Over the weekend, Pete Davidson gifted his fiancee Ariana Grande something very special: his late father's FDNY badge that he was wearing when he died during the September 11 terrorist attack. The gesture had fans speculating if perhaps the couple plans to get married on August 4, 2018 (the badge number is 8418 and both Davidson and Grande have the numbers tattooed on them), but one fan had something else to say about the thoughtful present.

"It's so ridiculous that he gave it to his ex and said the same thing," one user commented, referring to Davidson's recent ex, Cazzie David, who's been seen wearing the same necklace.

The Saturday Night Live star wasn't having it and clapped back, explaining the truth:

"Actually, I didn't give that to my ex. Yes, she had one, but it was a replica. I had a bunch of replicas made. My sister and grandpa also have one," he wrote. "The one that Ari has is the one my dad actually died in and the one he wore his entire career and the one I've worn for over 17 years. I’ve actually never taken it off other than for SNL or work. So it means a lot to me. Hope this helps. Please learn to be nicer and not to assume the worst in people. It’s a terrible way to live. Much love."
