Jim Bob And Michelle Duggar Poised To Make $1.6 Million On House Flip

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar might be best known as the heads of the family on the hit TLC show 19 Kids And Counting, but the pair doesn't just make their living by sharing the lives of their enormous family on reality TV. The Duggars also flip houses and one of their fixer-uppers just hit the market for a price way higher than what they paid for the property. The Springdale, Arkansas home is known as the Baylor Mansion and when Jim Bob and Michelle picked it up in 2014, they paid $230,000 for it. They've clearly put a lot of time, effort and money into it because the four-bedroom, nine-bathroom home is now for sale for $1.8 million.

The house was built in 1969 and the listing describes it as being inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's famed round house. Jim Bob and Michelle updated the home, putting in more modern features, opening up the floor plan and adding lots of kitchen space, all while maintaining original details like slate tile floors and walnut ceilings.

A rep for the couple told People magazine that the Duggars have been buying and selling houses since before they had a TV show, but this project is their biggest yet. The rep explained, "They've always looked for opportunities where they could improve something. They just like flipping houses. They like the construction business, the remodel, and seeing something go from bad to good — from unused to being attractive for others."

Judging by the video for the 2014 listing for the house, they've definitely made some improvements.

The property boasts 2.73 acres and also includes a very large stone patio on top of a three-and-a-half car garage, a hand-built spiral staircase, and a secure room designed to store guns.
