Canton's First Friday - August

It’s time to light up the scoreboard in Downtown Canton this First Friday, where the theme is GAME TIME! Free game truck and photo booth will be provided by Ohio Mobile Gaming as well as bungee trampolines and more on 3rd street. As your strolling through the streets, check out Cantonology where you can get a discount on all football-themed items. Strung by Shawna will be doing football string art make-n-takes, while Grapes in a Glass presents their game day drink specials. Make sure to stop by Vintage Frame Affair where you can get Football Hero portraits. Visit Canton will also be open for First Friday where you can get your own coloring of Pigskin!

Don’t forget the other shops and galleries around the Canton Arts District. 6th Street Yoga will have a new art opening by Su Nimon, Boomdyada will have make-n-take airplant arrangements, and Print & Press will have some awesome football-season styles from Little Chicago Clothing Co. Swing by Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre for Uncle Dreg’s group art show opening and check out BZTAT’s latest contemporary paintings of native Stark County creatures in her Urban Wildlife series.

Pinetree Primitives and Rustic Riches will be offering 15% off everything in the store if you are traveling here from out of two for the HOF festivities. Make sure to stop in to Lynda Tuttle’s Art Center for their LTAC American Quilt Show while Arrowhead Vintage & Handmade Goods will have be offering great deals on hats, scrunchies and records. But that’s not all - Silo Art Studio will be hosting the work of Rex Mitchell, Greg Caudill and Elizabeth Cooper as well as participation in their community embroidery project. John Strauss Furniture has many new furniture items and accessories while Canton Kindness Coalition will have “Be Kind” bracelets for sale at Cantonology and Carpe Diem.

Make sure to stop over at the new Fromage Du Monde where you can build your own Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches starting at 7:30pm. The sandwiches will be tasted to order and your specification using fresh ingredients.

Live music will be flooding the streets this First Friday with Loel Stein at Avenue Arts, Matt Gabriel and Tod and the Bad Ideas at George’s Lounge, Kevin DiSimone at Lucca, Brian Henke at Joseph Saxton Gallery and DJ Kelly Williams at 410 Martini. Ethan Peterson and Allen Cruz will be entertaining the crowds on the corner of 4th and Court throughout the evening with Pinkertones on the mainstage at 8pm. Don’t forget to stop by Buzzbin to enjoy music from Drivin’ Cryin’, Divorce Horse, Losers, The Molice and Sons of Ghidorah.
