Tickets are on sale now for the first Canton Hops and Harvest Festival at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Sat., Oct. 12, 2019. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample more than a hundred world-class beers from every region of Ohio, as well as national and international brews, while enjoying creative dishes from local restaurants, breweries, and food trucks, with special catering provided by Fishers Foods.
For years, event organizers and craft beer lovers, David Lockshin and Mark Puma, have been talking about a beer festival in Canton. Puma, based in New York, works in music promotion and artist management. Lockshin, local to Canton, owned Fame Beverage Co. in Massillon, OH, and sold the business in 2007 after working to create a strong demand for craft and imported beers.
The Canton Hops and Harvest Festival will be a day fueled with the feeling of sharing a beer with new friends—and sharing a heart for this community, with a
portion of the proceeds to benefit local nonprofit organizations including Wishes Can Happen, The Stark County Hunger Task Force and The Stark County Humane Society.
Some of the 50 participating breweries include: The Canton Brewing Company, Sierra Nevada, Rhinegeist Brewery, Platform Beer Company and Hoppin’ Frog Brewery.
While tickets are still available for the Oct. 12 event, they are limited. Tickets range in price from $15 to $60 and are available at cantonhopsandharvestfestival.com/tickets. The event has an afternoon session, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM for general admission, with VIP admission beginning at 12:00 PM, plus an evening session from 6:00 – 9:00 PM, with VIP admission at 5:00 PM.
