Here's When You Can Watch 'The Office' On NBC's Peacock Streaming Service

The Office

After news broke that The Office would be leaving Netflix because NBC planned to launch its own streaming platform, few other details about the upcoming Peacock were revealed. That changed on Friday (January 17) when NBC and Comcast announced when Peacock will finally launch, as well as how much a subscription will cost users. Here's everything you need to know about Peacock.

Peacock will differ from other streaming platforms, such as Netflix, Amazon and Disney+, because it plans to offer subscription tiers. The lowest tier, known as Peacock Free, will be free of charge for users. Since there's no subscription cost, however, users will be subjected to ads while streaming. This tier will have "next day access" to current seasons of broadcast series, as well as complete classic series and popular movies. Overall, there will be an estimated 7,500 hours worth of content.

The next tier up is known as Peacock Premium, which will be priced at $4.99 per month. The premium subscription will also have ads, however, there will likely be less of them than with the free subscription. Premium subscribers will have access to full season Peacock originals and "tent-pole series." Like Peacock Free, though, Peacock Premium members will only have next day access to shows currently airing on NBC. Premium users will, however, get early access to late night talk shows and be able to watch sports content, such as the Premier League. Overall, Peacock Premium will have an estimated 15,000 hours of content.

If you're already a Comcast and Cox subscriber, you will get free access to Peacock Premium. If you want an ad-free streaming experience, Premium subscribers can opt to pay $5 more per month for that. There will also be a Peacock ad-free tier, which will be $9.99 per month.

Comcast Xfinity X1 and Flex subscribers will able to access Peacock Premium beginning on April 15, 2020. Everybody else will have to wait until July 15, 2020. Peacock will be supported online through your browser, on mobile, and on select smart TV and other connected TV devices.

As for programming, Peacock is promising potential subscribers no shortage of amazing shows and movies. Though fans were sad to see The Office will be leaving Netflix, they'll be able to streaming the beloved sitcom in 2021. Popular late night shows, such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, will also be available on Peacock.

A few other well known series coming to Peacock include: Battlestar Galactica, Saved by the Bell, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Monk, House, Heroes, Leave it to Beaver, Coach, Murder She Wrote and more. You can check out all the shows and movies coming to NBC's streaming service in an epic Twitter thread on Peacock's account.
