Lauv Drops Acoustic Version Of 'Modern Loneliness' For COVID-19 Relief

Lauv went the acoustic route for a good cause with the latest version of “Modern Loneliness.”

Joining forces with Partners In Health’s COVID-19 Relief Efforts, the singer-songwriter unveiled a new acoustic version of his record along with a peaceful music video. The track comes as part of an exclusive merch bundle from the artist, who is donating all proceeds from streams and sales to the organization dedicated to providing preferential option for the poor in health care amid the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

“Modern Loneliness,” a melancholic track that draws on the banes and beauty of social isolation, appears on Lauv’s debut studio album, ~how i’m feeling~, which dropped last month. In his latest rendition, the musician, dressed in a pink track suit and white sweatpants, performs soft vocals in an open field with nothing but his guitar in hand.

The San Francisco native has regarded the record as “the most important song of my career so far," adding that "it sums up everything about why i think so many of us are lonely today." Concerning the times we're facing, with everyone practicing social distancing, the song feels more timely than ever.

This isn’t the first time Lauv has used his music to connect with fans for a greater cause. He recently performed an at-home livestream concert with Global Citizen and Twitch to raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts as well, bringing in just over $30,000.
