"Neighborhood" based fireworks are expected this year instead of the annual show that takes place at Lock 3 in downtown. A synchronized show will be launched in multiple places in the city including Akron Executive Airport, Patterson Park ball fields, Summit Lake and the State Street Parking Deck in Downtown Akron. Fireworks will begin at 9:45pm on July 4th.
A test will be ignited at 8:30pm, 9:00pm and 9:30pm giving residents a chance to find the best view from their neighborhood.
