Anthony Alexander, 16, was at a Philadelphia park on Monday when he heard three young children, who had fallen into an icy pond, screaming for help.
Alexander ran to help the kids, first trying to use a tree limb to reach them before wading out into the chest-deep water and pulling two of the children to the shore.
He started to swim out to get the third kid when Collingdale Police Sergeant Patrick Kilroy came up behind him and pulled him out of the water before swimming out to save the child.
