Ukrainian Sisters Share Food To Raise Money For Humanitarian Relief

Ukrainian-born baker Slava Dutchak and her sister, Elona, handed out traditional Ukrainian cookies to demonstrators showing support for Ukraine in front of the White House following the Russian invasion and were inspired to use their cooking skills to raise money for relief efforts.

Virginia food entrepreneur Radhika Murari was also looking for a way to use her cooking skills to help Ukrainians and connected with Slava about hosting cooking classes to support World Central Kitchen’s work in Ukraine.

With Murari, the Dutchak sisters launched a Cook for Ukraine class where they teach how to make borscht and Ukrainian bread in exchange for donations for WCK and have already raised over $7-thousand.
