Good News: TX Cheesecake Shop Raises Over $70K For Ukraine

A San Antonio, Texas, cheesecake shop raises over $70-thousand to support Ukraine. Over the weekend, Laika Cheesecake & Espresso in Alamo Heights held a fundraiser to help the Ukrainian armed forces. Shop owner Anna Afanasieva says their efforts totaled $72,405.63, which they will be donating to the special fundraising account of the National Bank of Ukraine to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Anna later took to Instagram to thank her customers for their support. The Ukrainian-American says it was heartwarming that so many people in San Antonio cared about her home country. She explains that one-third of the money raised was from cash donations, while the other portion came from sales at her shop.

Anna also says they will be continuing to raise money for Ukraine and she appeals to other businesses to do what they can to help Ukraine’s defense. She adds that just giving people options to donate is helpful and that many people want to help, but just don’t know-how.
