Last week, Bruce Tronolone was playing hockey in Toledo, Ohio, in an amateur over-50 league when he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the ice.
His fellow players, including an off-duty Toledo Fire and Rescue lieutenant, performed CPR and then used an automated external defibrillator to restart Tronolone’s heart.
The 63-year-old spent a week in the hospital before being released, is thankful to be alive, and is encouraging everyone to learn CPR.
