Students and teachers at Oak Hill Elementary in Covington, Georgia, show support for their Ukrainian-American custodian with a colorful artwork display and crowdfund campaign.
Lana Gazhenko, the head custodian at Oak Hill, has been with the school since it opened 21 years ago, but she was born in Ukraine and still has family there.
In a show of support, every student and many of the teachers at the school created a piece of “Hope for Ukraine” art and posted it on the school’s walls.
