As five-year-old Eliza Knox was being picked up by the school bus for her first day of kindergarten, she was surrounded by dozens of Houston first-responders.
Her father, flight officer Jason Knox, was killed in a police helicopter crash in 2020 and his brothers-in-arms in the Houston Police Department vowed to be there for his children.
The kids’ school bus got a Houston Police motorcycle escort to school and when they arrived, there was a line of over a dozen mounted patrol officers there to greet them.
