A Malinois, pronounced Mal-in-waa, is a unique breed of dog that we often see working in law enforcement. The Belgian Malinois is a preferred breed for police departments across the country. This breed possesses a very, very unique personality and temperament. These pups are known to be smart and obedient, protective and territorial. Though they become excellent family members in a home environment, their success is wholly dependent upon the kind intensity, and consistent training the handler provides. These pups are a true commitment and the payoff is worth the work.
Freya is a purebred Malinois. Taken in by a family, they determined that she would require too much effort to become the dog she was born, and bred, to be. Therefore, a decision was made to put this three-month-old puppy out on the streets. Found running in traffic, a Good Samaritan rescued her from a concerning fate. Freya’s owner was located and confirmed they had no desire to continue a life with her. Today, Freya is safe in the custody of Pay It Forward For Pets as she awaits a life of purpose and love.
Because of Freya’s breed, and the unique demands that come with her, we are looking for an experienced Malinois owner or handler. This is a unique opportunity for young Freya and her adopter, too. Might that adopter be you?
