#GoodNews: Cheesecake Shop Donating Profits To Ukraine

A San Antonio, Texas, cheesecake shop is donating its profits to Ukraine again. To mark one year of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Laika Cheesecake and Espresso in San Antonio is once again holding a fundraiser to benefit the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

We told you last year about the Ukrainian-owned cheesecake shop in Texas that raised over $72-thousand for Ukraine. Well, Shop owner Anna Afanasieva is marking the one year anniversary of the invasion by holding another fundraiser and has pledged 100% of their sales this weekend to the Ukrainian army.

Earlier this week, Laika Cheesecakes posted on social media announcing the fundraiser. “Last year I asked you for your help and you came,” the post reads. “And it's your support that allowed us to buy and deliver a great deal of medical supplies and tactical gear for our fighters on the frontlines.” They then ask for the community’s support again this weekend and pledge to donate “every dollar” they bring in on Friday and Saturday to the Ukrainian army.
