Linda Chicochios, known throughout the world as Charles Manson follower Linda Kasabian, has passed away at age 83. Kasabian was the getaway driver and eventual star witness against Manson and his “family” following their brutal murder spree in Los Angeles in 1969.
On August 9th, 1969, Kasabian drove Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwikle, and Charles Watson to the home of actor Sharon Tate, where she and her friends were murdered at Manson’s request. The next night, Kasabian aided the same group in the murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.
Prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi said later that without Kasabian’s testimony against Manson and company, “it would have been very difficult for me to convict Manson and his co-defendants.” Kasabian was given immunity for her testimony and later changed her last name to “Chiochios” for safety.
