On February 21st, a fire in a neighbor’s apartment spread to Janet Kelley’s Detroit apartment, trapping her one-year-old daughter, Shantel, inside.
The baby was in a playpen inside the house and when firefighters arrived, they could hear the sound of Kelley’s dog, Blue, barking, leading them right to the baby.
Although the family lost everything in the fire, they’re grateful that no one was injured and they’re thankful that Blue was dutifully there watching over their baby the whole time.
