Elderly Man Stuck In Snowbank Nearly A Week Survives On Candy, Croissants

On February 24th, 81-year-old Jerry Jouret was headed from Big Pine, California, to Gardnerville, Nevada, when his SUV got stuck in the snow during a massive snowstorm.

The former NASA employee wasn’t prepared for the freezing temperatures, but stayed warm using what he had and survived on croissants and candies and ate snow to stay hydrated.

On March 2nd, a CHP helicopter spotted Jouret’s blue SUV, picked him up and took him to a nearby hospital where he surprisingly checked out ok before being reunited with family.
