Last Saturday, lifeguards in Long Beach, California, responded to reports of a small white dog running loose in a beachside parking lot and when they arrived it had run out into the water.
A lifeguard grabbed a rescue board, paddled out to the edge of the swimming area, rescued the cold and wet pup, and brought him back to shore.
Later, the Long Beach Fire Department posted an update on their social media saying they’d reunited the pup, who they found out was named Tofu, with his grateful owner.
