The President of Mexico says his country is safer than the U.S.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador made the comment as there's been criticism of security in Mexico following the kidnapping and killing of Americans this month.

He claimed there's no problem with traveling safely around Mexico despite State Department advisories in place warning Americans not to travel to certain parts of the country.

Obrador doubled downed adding “If that were the case, so many Americans wouldn’t be coming in to live in Mexico City and the rest of the country.

In the past few years is when more Americans have come to live in Mexico.

So, what’s happening? Why the paranoia?”
