After seeing a little girl alone in the cold at 3 am on Sunday while out making a pizza delivery, Gabe Botello made his delivery and then returned to find her and get her to safety.
The father of seven eventually found the toddler behind a Downtown Grand Rapids factory, cold, crying, and barely clothed, so he wrapped her up in his hoodie and called 911.
Police were able to find her mother, who thought the three-year-old was still asleep in her bed and authorities believe she got out by accident.
Botello agrees, hopes the parents aren’t too hard on themselves, and says he just did what someone would for his kids.
