Mom Saves Teen Daughter After Heart Attack At Cheer Competition

On March 5th at a cheer competition in Raleigh, North Carolina, 17-year-old Keianna Joe passed out, became unresponsive, and her coach couldn’t find a pulse.

Keianna’s mom Andrea Joe ran down from the stands to help her daughter, immediately started CPR, and after being brought an AED device, shocked Keianna’s heart to restart it.

Paramedics soon arrived and took the teen to a nearby hospital where they confirmed that she’d suffered a heart attack and implanted a defibrillator to prevent future cardiac incidents.
