Protesters Demand Action On Guns At Tennessee State Capital

Protesters swarmed at Tennessee’s statehouse yesterday to demand stricter gun laws after Monday’s school shooting that left six dead, including three nine-year-old students. Over a thousand people showed up to join the protest outside the State Capitol Building while around a hundred crowded into the building, forcing law enforcement to clear paths for legislators to get into the chamber.

The demonstrators waved signs with messages like “No More Silence” and “We have to do better,” while chanting “Not one more” and “Do you even care,” among other slogans. The crowd remained mostly peaceful throughout the protest. The protest was organized by a group of Nashville mothers.
