A few weeks ago, Francis Zuber was skiing in the backcountry in Northwestern Washington State when he saw a flash of color in the snow that he recognized as part of a snowboard.
He immediately stopped and started frantically digging in the head-high soft powder until he reached the face of the snowboarder deep under the snow.
A now-viral video posted online is getting Zuber tons of deserved praise for saving the life of snowboarder Ian Steger, who says he’ll never be able to express how thankful he is for Zuber saving his life.
