Taco Bell loves to play around with its menu, adding and removing items regularly. A quick scroll through their Instagram account shows quite a few comments in all-caps requesting the return of discontinued items like, “Day 1 of waiting for the nacho fries to return.” And now the chain is giving fans a chance to be heard.

From today through April 12th, Taco Bell is allowing fans to vote on which beloved, but discontinued menu item should make a comeback for a limited time. The two candidates are:

  • The Flamin’ Hot Fritos-filled Beefy Crunch Burrito hasn’t been available since 2018.
  • The Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos was last on the menu in 2019.

This is the second time they’ve used a fan vote to decide what they bring back. Last year, it was between the Enchirito and the Double Decker taco and after more than 765-thousand votes were cast, the Enchirito won. This time around, Taco Bell Rewards Members can vote once a day on the Taco Bell app and the winner will be announced April 13th.

  • "We've heard our fans' passionate pleas and seen their grassroots campaigns — and even tattoos — for us to reintroduce former menu items," says Dane Mathews, Chief Digital Officer at Taco Bell. "Our fans rigorously turn to our social media to voice their menu item love and we're excited to give them the opportunity to redistribute that passion through this unique in-app voting experience that impacts real change on our menus!"
